Directions

Step 1 –Grease a 5-quart slow cooker.

Step 2 –In a large bowl, whisk 4 cups of the flour, the parsley, the minced onion, the garlic powder, the dill weed, the salt, the baking soda, and the ground mustard.

Step 3 –Add the buttermilk and the cheese to the dough mixture and stir until just moistened.

Step 4 –Using the extra flour, lightly flour a work surface. Turn the dough out onto the floured surface and knead gently, until the dough just comes together, about 6-8 times.

Step 5 –Shape the dough into a 6-inch round loaf.

Step 6 –Use a sharp knife to score the surface with 1-inch-deep cuts in a crisscross pattern.

Step 7 –Place the loaf in the prepared slow cooker, cover, and cook on high heat until a thermometer reads 190-200 degrees F, about 1 hour 30 minutes-2 hours.

Step 8 –Preheat the broiler.

Step 9 –Transfer the bread to a baking sheet.

Step 10 –Broil the bread 6-8 inches from the heat source until golden-brown, about 2-3 minutes.

Step 11 –Transfer the bread to a wire rack to cool completely.

Step 12 –Slice and serve.
