How Long Do Grapes Last In Fridge?
Just like every other fruit which is best to consume fresh, grapes are also the same. Grapes are not only tasty, but they are excellent for health. However, the problem associated with them is their proper storage as they can go bad real quick if not stored properly.
Grapes are well stored in the fridge as many external factors affect the freshness of grapes. One of the major factors that influence the quality of grapes is temperature. Grapes ripe a lot fast in a hot environment as compared to a cold environment. That’s why their storage in a refrigerator is a must.
It is best to store the grapes at 34 degrees Fahrenheit in the fridge. By doing so grapes will remain fresh for 2 weeks at least. The following table shows how long do grapes last in the fridge-
|Type Of Grapes||Duration|
|Whole grapes||7-15 days|

|Canned grapes||10 months|
Why Do Grapes Last For This Long In The Fridge?
Grapes are already rich in water. If kept in the place where there is moisture present, it will take the grapes soggy and unfit. Another factor that affects the goodness of grapes is humidity. If grapes are kept in a relatively humid place, the ripening process will get doubled in speed. They may cause the over-ripening of grapes.
Grapes are well known for their use in the formation of wine. That means microorganisms work quickly with grapes. Hence, if kept at room temperature, there are chances that the grape gets in contact with any microorganism which may make it unfit for consumption. These also contain polyphenols which undergo oxidation when comes under contact with air. This causes the oxidation of grapes.
For the above-mentioned reasons, it is advised to store the grapes inside the fridge. This is because it has a constant temperature. There is cold and no humidity and heat which may speed the ripening process of grapes. Microorganisms are also not able to thrive at this lower temperature, hence the fruit remains contamination free as well.
However, while storing grapes in the fridge some things should be kept in mind. It is not recommended to wash the grapes before storing them in the fridge. This is because excess moisture will cause the fruit to decay. It is told to keep them unwashed in an airtight container for best results.
It should be kept in mind that storing grapes in the fridge for too long(more than 2 weeks) is also not right. When done so the grapes may become soggy and their texture and taste will taste to a large extent.

Grapes are also a good alternative to reduce the speed of aging. This is the reason why they are used widely in the beauty industry.
To delay rotting, store grapes properly in an airtight container in the fridge which prevents in to come in contact with any microorganisms. Keeping it at a colder temperature also ensures that the fruit does not get overripe.
