  • 4 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/3 cup white sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter, chilled, cut into small pieces
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 2 tablespoons heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup turbinado sugar
  • 8 cups fresh strawberries, sliced
  • 1/4 cup white sugar

Directions

Step 1 –Set the oven to 425 degrees F, and line a baking tray with parchment paper.

Step 3 –Cut up the cold butter and add it to the mixture using a knife or pastry blender until the texture resembles coarse crumbs. For a faster route, you can use a food processor.

Step 4 –Mix in the buttermilk until the flour mixture is just moistened.
