Pantry Staple Dinner

Taking some classic pantry items and a bit of ground beef and whipping it into a hearty, spicy, and savory main course might seem like magic (as will making it in under half an hour), but it’s the taste that is truly wondrous! Ingredients

  • 1 pound of ground beef
  • 2 (14.5-ounce) cans of stewed tomatoes
  • 1/4 cup dried onion, minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper, plus more to taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 cup elbow macaroni

Directions

Step 1 –In a large skillet, cook the beef over medium heat until no longer pink, about 6-8 minutes.

Step 2 –Drain the fat from the skillet.

Step 3 –Add the tomatoes, dried onions, salt, chili powder, pepper, and sugar.

Step 4 –Bring the mixture to a boil.

Step 5 –Reduce the heat and simmer for 5 minutes.

Step 6 –Stir in the macaroni.

Step 7 –Cover and simmer for 15 minutes.

Step 8 –Uncover and simmer until the macaroni is tender and the sauce is thickened, for about 3-4 minutes.

Step 9 –Serve.
