Ingredients
- 2 cups long grain white rice, uncooked
- 1 tablespoon onion powder
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- 2 teaspoons chicken bouillon
- 1/4-1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper
- 1 tablespoon dried parsley, plus more, to taste, for garnish
- 4 tablespoons plus 1 tablespoon butter, divided
- 3 1/3-3 1/2 cups chicken broth or water
Directions
Step 1 –In a large saucepan or a cast-iron skillet, add the rice, the onion powder, the garlic powder, the paprika, the thyme, the salt, the pepper, the chicken bouillon, the crushed red pepper, 1 tablespoon of the parsley, 4 tablespoons of the butter, and the chicken broth, stirring to combine.
Step 2 –Place the saucepan on the stove and bring the mixture to a boil over high heat.
Step 3 –Once the mixture starts to bubble, cover and reduce the heat to low.
Step 4 –Simmer until all of the liquid is fully absorbed, about 18-20 minutes.
Step 5 –Let the rice rest for 5 minutes.
Step 6 –Add the remaining butter to the rice.
Step 7 –Fluff the rice with a fork.
Step 8 –Serve garnished with the extra parsley.
