Rosemary Greyhound

Infuse a classic Greyhound cocktail with fragrant, homemade rosemary simple syrup and you instantly have a refreshing remix! Rosemary Greyhound boasts all the delightful flavors of a traditional Greyhound, but with a boost of fanciful floral flavor. Grab your favorite cocktail glass, mix up a delicious Rosemary Greyhound, and grab a seat on the porch to watch the sunset on a warm summer evening. You won’t regret it!

Ingredients

For the rosemary simple syrup:

  • 2 cups water
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 6 sprigs fresh rosemary

For the cocktail:

  • 2 ounces vodka, of choice
  • ice, enough to fill a tall glass
  • 1/2 ounce prepared rosemary simple syrup
  • 4 ounces grapefruit juice
  • 1 sprig rosemary, optional, for garnish
  • grapefruit slice, optional, for garnish

Directions

Step 1 –Dissolve the sugar in the water in a saucepan over medium-low heat, stirring regularly for about 5 minutes. Do not let the mixture boil.

Step 2 –Pour the warm sugar over the rosemary sprigs in a heat-safe container.

Step 3 –Allow the rosemary to infuse and steep for at least 1 hour. The simple syrup can be kept in an airtight container for up to 10 days.

Step 4 –Pour the vodka into a tall glass of ice.

Step 5 –Add the homemade rosemary simple syrup and grapefruit juice.

Step 6 –Garnish with a sprig of rosemary and a slice of grapefruit and serve.
