Saturday Morning Bacon

Good morning to ya! You’ve made it to the best day of the week and there’s only one way to start it off… a big ole breakfast! Waffles, eggs, cinnamon rolls, French toast, or whatever you choose, but you must make sure Saturday Morning Bacon is served on the side. This isn’t like the plain bacon you eat during the week. Oh, no, no! This kind comes extra sweet, savory, and crispy, thanks to a lathering of special sauce and a sprinkling of crushed cornflakes. Baked in the oven to prevent all the grease splatters, Saturday Morning Bacon will really start your weekend off with a bang!

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup evaporated milk
  • 2 tablespoons ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • pepper, to taste
  • 18 strips bacon
  • 3 cups cornflakes, crushed

Directions

Step 1 –Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.

Step 2 –In a large bowl, add the evaporated milk, the ketchup, the Worcestershire sauce, and the pepper and stir to combine.

Step 3 –Add the bacon strips to the sauce mixture and turn to coat them.

Step 4 –Place the crushed cornflakes on a large plate and dip the coated bacon strips in them, patting to help the coating adhere.

Step 5 –Place the coated bacon strips on the prepared racks and bake, rotating the pans halfway, until they are golden and crisp, about 25-30 minutes.

Step 6 –Serve.
