Shake & Bake Chicken

Shake & Bake Chicken! It’s so simple, we’re surprised people don’t do it more often! Some crunchy breadcrumbs, some aromatic seasonings, and a little oil all go into a bag. Add the chicken and shake until coated. Then bake, and voila! Crunchy, savory, tender chicken beautifully seasoned! No fuss required! The only thing to worry about now is whether you made enough Shake & Bake Chicken!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup plain breadcrumbs
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon celery salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried basil leaves
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried parsley
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 2 pounds chicken breast, boneless and skinless, cut into thin cutlets

Directions

Step 1 –Adjust an oven rack to the lowest position.

Step 2 –Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F.

Step 3 –Grease an 18×26-inch baking sheet.

Step 4 –In a gallon-size resealable plastic bag, add the breadcrumbs, the salt, the paprika, the celery salt, the pepper, the garlic powder, the onion powder, the basil, the parsley, and the oregano and mix well.

Step 5 –Add the oil to the seasoning mixture, seal the bag, and work the mixture until it is evenly distributed throughout.

Step 6 –Add the chicken to the seasoning mixture, seal again, and shake well until coated.

Step 7 –Arrange the chicken in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet, taking care to leave at least 1-inch between each of the chicken cutlets.

Step 8 –Bake the chicken until the meat reaches an internal temperature of 165 degrees F, about 12-18 minutes.
