Slow Cooker Sausage and Potato

When the weather gets icy and your breath turns to steam, all you want is to come home to a steaming hot dinner ready to eat. Slow Cooker Sausage and Potato is the hearty dinner to end all hearty dinners, with peppery and smoky kielbasa and crispy hash browns packed with creamy chicken flavors. Mixed with melty sharp cheese and a sour cream tang, you’ll marvel that this meal is such an easy set-it-and-forget-it affair. Slow Cooker Sausage and Potato will keep spirits bright during even the darkest winter!

Ingredients

  • 1 (32-ounce) bag hash browns
  • 14 ounces kielbasa, cut into small pieces
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 1/2 cups cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1 (10.5-ounce) can cream of chicken soup
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • salt, to taste
  • pepper, to taste

Directions

Step 1 –Grease the slow cooker.

Step 2 –Combine the hash browns, kielbasa, onions, and 2 cups of cheese in the slow cooker.

Step 3 –In a separate bowl, mix the cream of chicken soup, sour cream, salt, and pepper.

Step 4 –Pour the soup mixture over the hashbrowns and sausage, giving it a stir to combine.

Step 5 –Sprinkle the remaining 1/2 cup of cheese over the top.

Step 6 –Cook the hash browns and sausage on low for a minimum of 6 hours and a maximum of 8 hours. You can also cook it on high for 4-5 hours.

Step 7 –Once the potatoes are cooked through, you can serve it immediately!
