Stranger Cake

Ingredients

  • 1 box butter pecan cake mix
  • 1 can coconut-pecan frosting
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup pecans, toasted and chopped
  • powdered sugar, to taste, for serving

Directions

Step 1 –Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.

Step 2 –Generously grease a 10-inch fluted cake pan.

Step 3 –In a large bowl, mix the cake mix, the frosting, the water, the vegetable oil, the eggs, and the pecans together.

Step 4 –Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and bake until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean, about 45 minutes.

Step 5 –Let the cake cool in the pan for 5 minutes.

Step 6 –Transfer the cake from the pan and let it cool completely on a wire rack.

Step 7 –Dust the cake with the powdered sugar.

Step 8 –Slice and serve.
