Town Center Bolognese

Enjoying a day out on the town warrants a meal that feels equally as cosmopolitan and exciting! Something a little luxurious, a little decadent, but still a little homespun! Sounds like a job for this Town Center Bolognese! The star of the show, the deliciously rich and creamy sauce, is packed with so much meat that each bite is extra savory and hearty. It’s wonderfully fragrant, with notes of bright tomato and herbs to really enchant the senses! Town Center Bolognese is at the center of all great days and even better evenings!

Ingredients

  • 1/2 tablespoon olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 medium carrot, diced
  • 2 stalks celery, finely chopped
  • 1 medium yellow onion, diced
  • 6 ounces ground turkey
  • 6 ounces ground pork
  • 6 ounces ground sirloin
  • 1 (28-ounce) can diced tomatoes
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 1 cup reduced-sodium chicken or beef broth
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 bay leaves
  • salt, to taste
  • pepper, to taste
  • 1 package fresh fettuccine, can substitute 1 pound dried fettuccine
  • parmesan, optional, to taste, grated, for topping

Directions

Step 1 –Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium heat.

Step 2 –Add the garlic, the carrot, the celery, and the onion, and sauté until the vegetables are tender, about 5 minutes.

Step 3 –Add the turkey, the pork, and the ground sirloin and cook, stirring with a wooden spoon, until the meat is no longer pink, about 5-7 minutes.

Step 4 –Drain any accumulated fat from the pan.

Step 5 –Add the tomatoes, the tomato paste, the broth, the milk, and the bay leaves.

Step 6 –Reduce the heat and simmer until the sauce has thickened, at least 30 minutes.

Step 7 –Season the mixture with the salt and the pepper and keep the mixture warm.

Step 8 –Cook the pasta in a large pot of salted boiling water, according to the package directions.

Step 9 –Drain the pasta and toss it with the warm sauce.

Step 10 –Serve topped with the parmesan cheese.
