Turnover Casserole

Mmm, ’tis the season for warm, gooey desserts! Doesn’t that just make your heart well up with glee?! Well, you can count on this Turnover Casserole to do that for ya, without a doubt. Nothing can quite possibly warm your soul like tender, jammy cinnamon apples and crispy, crunchy crescent dough. It’s just the best combination. Drizzle it with your homemade creamy glaze, and your taste buds will hardly know what to do with themselves! Turnover Casserole is the classic kind of cozy. Now, grab some and prepare for pure joy!

Ingredients

For the casserole:

  • 2 (8-ounce) cans crescent dough sheets
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon, divided
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 Granny Smith apples, cored and chopped
  • 1 tablespoon flour
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted

For the glaze:

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup whole milk

Directions

Step 1 –Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.

Step 2 –Coat a 9×9-inch baking dish with nonstick baking spray.

Step 3 –Cut the crescent sheets into 1-inch-thick cubes and place in a medium bowl.

Step 4 –Add 1/2 of the cinnamon and the brown sugar to the crescent cubes and toss to coat.

Step 5 –In a large bowl, add the apples, the flour, and the remaining cinnamon and toss to coat.

Step 6 –Add the coated crescent cubes to the apple mixture and toss to combine.

Step 7 –Pour the apple mixture into the prepared baking dish and drizzle with the melted butter.

Step 8 –Bake the casserole until it is golden-brown, about 40-45 minutes.

Step 9 –Let the casserole rest for 10 minutes.

Step 10 –In a small bowl, add the powdered sugar and the milk and whisk to combine. If it’s too thick, microwave it for 15 seconds.

Step 11 –Pour the glaze over the casserole.

Step 12 –Serve.
