Ingredients
- 12 ounces egg noodles, uncooked
- 2 teaspoons olive oil
- 1 1/4 pounds lean ground beef
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 teaspoons garlic, minced
- salt, to taste
- pepper, to taste
- 1 (16-ounce) can tomato sauce
- 1 (15-ounce) can diced tomatoes, drained
- 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
- 2 cups cheddar cheese, shredded
- 2 tablespoons parsley, chopped
Directions
Step 1 –Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.
Step 2 –Coat a 9×13-inch baking dish with cooking spray.
Step 3 –Bring a pot of salted water to a boil and cook the noodles to al dente according to the package directions. Drain.
Step 4 –While the noodles are cooking, in a large pan over medium-high heat, warm the oil.
Step 5 –Add the ground beef to the oil and cook, while crumbling, about 4-5 minutes.
Step 6 –Add the onion and the garlic to the beef mixture and cook until the onion is softened and the meat is no longer pink, about 5 minutes.
Step 7 –Season the meat mixture with the salt and the pepper.
Step 8 –Add the tomato sauce, the tomatoes, and the Italian seasoning to the meat mixture and stir to combine.
Step 9 –Add the cooked noodles to the beef mixture and toss to combine.
Step 10 –Pour the beef and noodle mixture into the prepared baking dish.
Step 11 –Sprinkle the casserole with the cheese.
Step 12 –Bake until the cheese is melted, about 10-15 minutes.
Step 13 –Sprinkle with the parsley and serve.
