Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour, sifted
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 cup walnuts, chopped
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/3 cup butter, melted
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 2/3 cup semisweet chocolate chips

Directions

Step 1 –Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.

Step 2 –Grease a 9×9-inch baking pan.

Step 3 –Sift the flour, the baking powder, the salt, and the baking soda in a medium bowl.

Step 4 –Stir the walnuts into the flour mixture.

Step 5 –In a large bowl, mix the brown sugar and the melted butter until they are combined, then allow the mixture to cool slightly.

Step 6 –Stir the beaten egg and the vanilla into the brown sugar mixture.

Step 7 –Add the flour mixture, a little at a time, to the brown sugar mixture and mix until they are just combined.

Step 8 –Spread the batter into the prepared baking pan and sprinkle with the chocolate chips

Step 9 –Bake the blondies until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean, 20-25 minutes.

Step 10 –Slice and serve.
