Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon butter, optional
- 1/2 (1 head) cabbage, chopped
- 1 (14.5-ounce) can diced tomatoes
- 1 (8-ounce) can tomato sauce
- salt, to taste
- black pepper, to taste
Directions
Step 1 –In a large pan over medium-high heat, add the ground beef and cook until no longer pink, about 5-7 minutes.
Step 2 –Add the onion and cook until translucent, about 2-3 minutes.
Step 3 –Drain the fat from the skillet. Alternatively, you can leave the fat and use it in place of the butter.
Step 4 –Add the garlic and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute.
Step 5 –Add the butter (if you drained the fat from the skillet), the cabbage, the tomatoes, the tomato sauce, the salt, and the pepper to the pan and stir to combine.
Step 6 –Cover and simmer until the cabbage is soft, about 20-30 minutes.
Step 7 –Serve.
