Bacon Cheeseburger Casserole

Bacon Cheeseburger Casserole captures that fresh-off-the-grill, grab your favorite toppings feeling that only comes from the best kinds of barbeques. Savory ground beef is infused with cheddar soup and melty cheese for the full cheeseburger feeling, and you can’t forget the fatty bacon pieces! Throw in some classic condiments like ketchup and mustard and you have almost the full burger experience. All you need now is a bun… oh wait, you don’t! Bacon Cheeseburger Casserole comes with a buttery, golden-brown biscuit topping! Why would you turn the grill on again when you’re craving burgers?

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds lean ground beef
  • 1 cup yellow onions, diced
  • 1 (10.5-ounce) can condensed cheddar cheese soup
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons mustard
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 3/4 cup bacon crumbles, divided
  • 3 cups mozzarella and cheddar cheese blend, shredded
  • 1 (12-ounce) can refrigerated biscuits

Directions

Step 1 –Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.

Step 2 –Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.

Step 3 –In a large sauté pan over medium-high heat, add the ground beef.

Step 4 –Cook, crumbling the ground beef, until fully cooked, about 5-7 minutes.

Step 5 –Drain the grease from the pan.

Step 6 –Reduce the heat to medium-low.

Step 7 –Add the onions to the pan, stirring well and cooking for 2 minutes.

Step 8 –Add the soup, the ketchup, and the mustard to the beef mixture, stirring until all of the ingredients are fully combined.

Step 9 –Add the salt, the pepper, the garlic powder, and the onion powder to the pan, stirring well.

Step 10 –Add 1/2 cup of the bacon crumbles to the pan, stirring well.

Step 11 –Pour the ground beef mixture into the prepared baking dish, spreading it out evenly.

Step 12 –Sprinkle the cheese on top of the ground beef.

Step 13 –Sprinkle the remaining bacon crumbles on top of the cheese.

Step 14 –Open the biscuit can and cut each biscuit into 6 pieces.

Step 15 –Sprinkle the biscuit pieces on top of the casserole, spacing them out as evenly as possible.

Step 16 –Bake until the biscuit pieces are nicely browned on top, about 18-20 minutes.

Step 17 –Let the casserole cool for a few minutes.

Step 18 –Serve.
