Brown Butter Bars

It’s snack time, and let’s save ourselves some hassle: if we’re going to snack, we’re going to do it in style by combining all our favorites into each bite! It’s time for something beautiful like Brown Butter Bars! Sweet marshmallows combine the creamy and crunchy fudge-covered pretzels, the crispy-sweet cereal, and, yes, even more marshmallows together! Everything is infused with the richness and nuttiness of brown butter for a truly golden experience. Brown Butter Bars are no-bake and no-stress meaning that they just bring pure happiness!

Ingredients

  • 4 cups white fudge-covered miniature pretzels
  • 1 (10-ounce) package miniature marshmallows
  • 1 (10-12-ounce) package white baking chips
  • 2 cups butter, cubed
  • 3 (10-ounce) packages large marshmallows
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 8 cups sweetened corn and oat cereal

Directions

Step 1 –Line a 15×10-inch pan with parchment paper, letting the ends of the paper extend over the sides.

Step 2 –Freeze the pretzels, the miniature marshmallows, and the baking chips for 1 hour.

Step 3 –Combine the frozen pretzels, the marshmallows, and the baking chips in a large bowl.

Step 4 –In a Dutch oven over medium heat, cook the butter, stirring constantly, until it is golden-brown, about 10-13 minutes.

Step 5 –Add the large marshmallows to the melted butter and cook, stirring, until they are blended.

Step 6 –Transfer the Dutch oven from the heat.

Step 7 –Stir the vanilla and the salt into the melted marshmallow mixture.

Step 8 –Stir the cereal into the melted marshmallow mixture until it is coated.

Step 9 –Stir the pretzel mixture into the melted marshmallow mixture.

Step 10 –Transfer the mixture to the prepared pan, pressing it evenly with a buttered spatula.

Step 11 –Allow the mixture to cool completely.

Step 12 –Use the parchment paper overhang to lift the bars out of the pan.

Step 13 –Slice and serve.
