Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 (16 ounce) package miniature marshmallows
  • 2 tablespoons bourbon
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • 8 cups crispy rice cereal
  • flaky sea salt, to taste

Directions

Step 1 –Melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat, stirring constantly, until it is golden brown and has a nutty aroma, about 5 minutes.

Step 2 –Add the marshmallows to the browned butter.

Step 3 –Reduce the heat to medium-low and cook, stirring occasionally, until marshmallows are melted, about 3-4 minutes.

Step 4 –Stir the bourbon and the sea salt into the marshmallow mixture.

Step 5 –Remove the saucepan from the heat.

Step 6 –Add the rice cereal to the marshmallow mixture, mixing until the cereal is evenly coated with the marshmallow mixture. Transfer the mixture to a 9×13-inch baking dish.

Step 7 –Place a sheet of parchment paper over the rice cereal mixture and press the mixture into the dish.

Step 8 –Remove the parchment paper and sprinkle flaked sea salt over the top.

Step 9 –Cool the treats to room temperature, at least 30 minutes.

Step 10 –Serve!
