Ingredients

  • 6 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup walnuts
  • 3/4 cup plus 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour, divided
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup light brown sugar, packed
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons bourbon
  • 1/2 cup milk chocolate chips

Directions

Step 1 –Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.

Step 2 –Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Line an 8×8-inch baking dish with enough parchment paper so that it hangs over both sides. Top with another sheet of parchment paper in the opposite direction, letting it hang over both sides. Lightly coat the parchment paper on the baking sheet and the baking dish with cooking spray.

Step 3 –In a small pan over medium heat, add the butter and cook, stirring occasionally, until it turns an amber color and has a nutty smell. Be careful not to overcook as it can burn easily.

Step 4 –Pour the browned butter in a small bowl to cool.
