Ingredients
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1/2 cup plus 1/4 cup parmesan cheese, grated, divided
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 4 chicken breasts, boneless and skinless
- 4 slices mozzarella cheese
- parsley, to taste, chopped, for garnish
Directions
Step 1 –Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.
Step 2 –Coat a 9×13-inch baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.
Step 3 –In a large bowl, add the sour cream, 1/2 cup of the parmesan cheese, the salt, the black pepper, the oregano, the basil, the garlic powder, and the cornstarch and mix to combine.
Step 4 –Add the chicken breasts in a single layer to the prepared baking dish.
Step 5 –Add 1 slice of the mozzarella to the top of each of the chicken breasts.
Step 6 –Pour the sour cream mixture over top of the cheese layer and sprinkle with the remaining parmesan cheese.
Step 7 –Bake the chicken breasts until they reach an internal temperature of 165 degrees F and the juices run clear, about 1 hour.
Step 8 –Serve the chicken breasts garnished with the parsley.
