Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 onions, chopped
- 1 1/2 cups sour cream
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 1/2 tablespoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1/8 cup flat leaf parsley, chopped
Directions
Step 1 –In a large skillet over medium heat, add the butter to melt.
Step 2 –Add the onions to the melted butter and sauté, stirring constantly, about 3-4 minutes.
Step 3 –Turn the stovetop to low heat and continue to cook the onions, stirring about every 4-5 minutes, until golden-brown, about 30 minutes.
Step 4 –Transfer the browned onions from the stovetop to a wire rack and let cool.
Step 5 –In a large bowl, add the sour cream, the mayonnaise, the garlic powder, the salt, and the black pepper and mix to combine.
Step 6 –Add the browned onions and the parsley to the sour cream mixture and stir until well-combined.
Step 7 –Refrigerate or serve immediately.
