Easy and Delicious French Toast is breakfast done right! The French toast is soaked in a rich, sweet, custard-like coating fried to a delectable golden brown. Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 4 eggs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 8 slices bread, i.e. challah, brioche, or classic white bread
  • syrup, optional, warmed, to taste, for serving

Directions

Step 1 –In a small bowl, combine the cinnamon, nutmeg, and sugar. Set the mixture aside briefly.

Step 2 –In a 10-inch or 12-inch skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.

Step 3 –Whisk together the cinnamon mixture, eggs, milk, and vanilla.

Step 4 –Pour the egg mixture into a shallow container.

Step 5 –Dip the bread in the egg mixture, making sure both sides are coated.

Step 6 –Fry the slices until golden brown, flipping to cook both sides, about 3-4 minutes per side.

Step 7 –Serve with the syrup.
