Figgy Puff Pastries

Ingredients

  • 1 frozen puff pastry, thawed
  • 6 tablespoons fig jam
  • 1 (4-ounce) log goat cheese
  • water, to taste

Directions

Step 1 –Stack two 18×26-inch baking sheets on top of each other and line the top sheet with parchment paper.

Step 2 –Lay the puff pastry on the prepared baking sheet and roll it out to 12-inches.

Step 3 –Evenly spread the fig jam over the puff pastry, leaving 1/2-1-inch of the edge bare for sealing.

Step 4 –Evenly crumble the goat cheese on top of the fig jam.

Step 5 –Use a pastry brush to brush the water over the bare edge.

Step 6 –Starting at the opposite edge, roll the puff pastry into a log and then place it on a small cutting board, seam-side down.

Step 7 –Freeze the pastry log until it is firm enough to slice, about 20-30 minutes.

Step 8 –Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.

Step 9 –Use a sharp knife to cut the pastry log into 10 pieces.

Step 10 –Place the dough slices on the prepared baking sheet in rows, ensuring to leave space between each slice.

Step 11 –Bake the slices until they are golden-brown on the edges, about 23-25 minutes.

Step 12 –Transfer the baked puff pastry to a wire rack to cool, about 10 minutes.

Step 13 –Plate and serve.
