Hot Fudge Cookies

All you need is love and ice cream. When ice cream isn’t an option, these Hot Fudge Cookies are the next best thing… or maybe even better?! We’ll let you be the judge of that as you bite into these ooey-gooey chocolate cookies that are filled with melty chocolate chips. They’re warm, sweet, and they’ll make you want to cheer! And hey, they’d be pretty delightful with a nice scoop of vanilla ice cream… or even some chocolate if you have that kind of chocolate devotion. It’s safe to say, we all scream for Hot Fudge Cookies!

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 egg
  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • 1 1/3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/3 cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • chocolate syrup, to taste, for serving

Directions

Step 1 –Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.

Step 2 –Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.

Step 3 –In a medium bowl, add the cocoa powder, the granulated sugar, the butter, and the vegetable oil and use an electric hand mixer to mix it together.

Step 4 –Add the egg and the vanilla to the cocoa mixture and beat until it is fully incorporated.

Step 5 –In a separate bowl, add the flour, the baking powder, and the salt and mix together.

Step 6 –Add the flour mixture to the cocoa mixture and beat until a dough forms; avoid overbeating.

Step 7 –Fold the chocolate chips into the cookie dough.

Step 8 –Use an ice cream scoop to scoop the dough into balls and place them on the prepared baking sheets, pressing them down in the center to reach the desired thickness.

Step 9 –Bake the cookies, about 10-12 minutes; avoid overbaking.

Step 10 –Transfer the baking sheet from the oven and let the cookies rest for 10 minutes.

Step 11 –Place the cookies on wire racks to cool completely, about 10 minutes.

Step 12 –Serve the cookies drizzled with the chocolate syrup.
