Ice Queen Cocktail

Hear ye, hear ye… calling all partygoers! We proclaim this to be the best and most beautiful refreshment in all the land! Ice Queen Cocktail is crowned the party favorite for all your royal special occasions! Roll out the blue carpet for this little jewel filled to the brim with smooth vodka, some eye-catching blue curaƧao, a squeeze of sassy lemon juice, and just a bit of the bubbly (aka Champagne) for a refreshingly cold and fully regal flavor experience. Don’t bow down to any other! Beautiful and stately Ice Queen Cocktail is majesty over all the land of beverages! Hear, hear!

Ingredients

For the sugared blueberries:

  • 2 cups sugar, divided
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 (11-ounce) container fresh blueberries

For the cocktail:

  • ice, to taste
  • 2 ounces vodka
  • 1 ounce blue curaƧao
  • 1/2 ounce lemon juice, freshly squeezed
  • demi-sec (sweet) Champagne, to taste, can substitute moscato

Directions

Step 1 –In a medium saucepan over medium heat, add 1/2 cup of the sugar and the water and cook, while stirring, until the sugar is dissolved, about 2-3 minutes.

Step 2 –Transfer the saucepan from the heat and stir in the blueberries until they are well-coated.

Step 3 –Using a colander, drain the blueberries.

Step 4 –Transfer the drained blueberries to a wire rack to dry, about 1 hour.

Step 5 –In small batches, roll the blueberries in the remaining 1 1/2 cups of the sugar until well-coated.

Step 6 –Let the blueberries dry, about 1 hour.

Step 7 –In a shaker, add the ice, the vodka, the blue curaƧao, and the lemon juice.

Step 8 –Seal the shaker and shake the cocktail until the drink mixture is very cold.

Step 9 –Evenly strain the drink mixture into two Champagne flutes.

Step 10 –Gently add enough of the Champagne to the drink mixtures in each flute, filling the drinks to the top of the glasses.

Step 11 –Serve the cocktail garnished with the sugared blueberries.
