Money Bread Pudding

If you’d be so kind as to pardon the pun, this dessert is right on the money! Money Bread Pudding is truly, amazingly, incredibly delicious, and you’ll be feeling flush as you dig into it! The bread pieces are truly tender, having absorbed a creamy, zesty, honey-sweet sauce with notes of bright orange and warm cinnamon. Draped atop, is a sugary, summery strawberry sauce electrified with orange flavor. You’d willingly spend money to enjoy Money Bread Pudding… but you don’t have to! You can make it all on your own in a breeze!

Ingredients

For the bread pudding:

  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups whole milk
  • 1/4 cup orange blossom honey or clover honey
  • 1 teaspoon orange zest
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 loaf brioche bread, crusts removed and cut into cubes
  • 1 tablespoon raw sugar

For the strawberry sauce:

  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 pound strawberries, rinsed and quartered
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons orange juice

Directions

Step 1 –Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.

Step 2 –In a large bowl, add the eggs and whisk well.

Step 3 –Add the milk, the honey, the orange zest, the vanilla, and the cinnamon to the eggs and whisk until well-combined.

Step 4 –Add the bread cubes to the egg mixture and toss until all the liquid is absorbed.

Step 5 –Evenly divide the bread mixture into four 8-ounce creme brĂ»lĂ©e ramekins.

Step 6 –Place the ramekins onto a baking sheet.

Step 7 –Sprinkle the tops of the bread pudding ramekins with the raw sugar.

Step 8 –Bake the bread pudding until golden-brown, about 25 minutes.

Step 9 –In a large skillet over high heat, melt the butter until it is bubbling.

Step 10 –Add the strawberries to the butter and sprinkle them with the granulated sugar.

Step 11 –Add the orange juice to the strawberries and toss to combine.

Step 12 –Adjust the heat to medium and simmer the strawberry sauce until it thickens, about 3-5 minutes.

Step 13 –Serve the strawberry sauce with the bread pudding.
