As the kids say, this dessert is stacked… literally! Red Velvet Cookie Bars have the tender, moist, distinct red velvet cake served atop a chocolate-chip cookie crust! Could there be anything more whimsical or wonderful? Well, the powdered sugar on top certainly helps! Red Velvet Cookie Bars realize the best way to enjoy dessert is to have two of them; and bring amazing chocolatey flavors together in the process!

Ingredients
- flour, to taste, for dusting
- 1 (16.5-ounce) roll refrigerated chocolate chip cookie dough
- 1 (15.25-ounce) box red velvet cake mix
- 2/3 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 eggs, room temperature
- powdered sugar, to taste, for topping

Directions
Step 1 –Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
Step 2 –Spray an 8-inch square pan with baking spray (use a baking spray with flour).
Step 3 –Using the flour, lightly dust your fingers, then break the cookie dough into crumbles and place in the prepared pan, pressing the crumbles evenly into the bottom to form a crust.
Step 4 –Bake the cookie crust for 15 minutes.
Step 5 –Transfer the cookie crust from the oven and allow it to cool for 10 minutes.
Step 6 –In a medium bowl, beat the cake mix, the melted butter, and the eggs with a whisk until well-combined.
Step 7 –Spread the cake batter evenly over the cookie crust.
Step 8 –Return the pan to the oven and bake until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean, about 25-30 minutes.
Step 9 –Transfer the pan from the oven and allow it to cool completely, about 45 minutes.
Step 10 –Cut the cake into bars and dust them with the powdered sugar.
Step 11 –Serve.
