Red, White, & Blue Bark

One of the many fun parts about celebrating the Fourth of July is seeing how many foods you can serve that fall into the red, white, and blue color scheme. The main courses and side dishes can be more challenging, but when it comes to desserts, the options are almost endless, thanks to treats like this Red, White, & Blue Bark. These little firecrackers are the perfect sweet-and-salty combo to munch on as you sit and watch the nighttime sky light up with all of the glittery colors. The patriotic hues just make it all the more festive. Celebrate in style with Red, White, & Blue Bark!

Ingredients

  • 6 ounces white candy-coating disks
  • 6 ounces blue candy-coating disks
  • 6 ounces red candy-coating disks
  • 1 cup red, white, and blue-colored candy-coated chocolate pieces
  • 1/2 cup pretzel pieces, chopped
  • 1/4 cup assorted sprinkles

Directions

Step 1 –Line a large baking sheet with heavy foil, then grease the foil.

Step 2 –Place the white candy-coating disks, the blue candy-coating disks, and the red candy-coating disks in three separate microwave-safe bowls.

Step 3 –Individually microwave the candy on high power until melted, about 1 minute 30 seconds-2 minutes per bowl.

Step 4 –Pour the melted white candy, the melted blue candy, and the melted red candy onto the prepared baking sheet.

Step 5 –Use a skewer or a butter knife to gently swirl the melted candies together.

Step 6 –Spread the swirled candy mixture to about 1/4-inch thickness on the baking sheet.

Step 7 –Sprinkle the candy-coated chocolate pieces, the pretzels, and the sprinkles over the melted candy and lightly press them down.

Step 8 –Chill the candy mixture in the refrigerator until firm, about 30 minutes.

Step 9 –Use the foil to lift the bark from the baking sheet.

Step 10 –Carefully break the bark into pieces.

Step 11 –Serve, and store the remaining bark between layers of waxed paper in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
