This bake brings new, elevated levels of savory beef, seasoned sauce, and gooey cheese that you won’t get on a thin slice of pizza pie! And the fluffy, flaky biscuits on top are even more satisfying than the crust you’ve been craving. Your pizza party just got a switch-up… the Reverse Casserole kind of switch-up!
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 pounds lean ground beef
- 1 (15-ounce) can pizza sauce
- 1 (4-ounce) can sliced mushrooms, drained
- 1/4 cup ripe olives, sliced and pitted
- 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
- 1 (10-ounce) can refrigerated biscuit dough
Directions
Step 1 –Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.
Step 2 –Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat.
Step 3 –Add the beef to the skillet and cook, while crumbling, until it is browned, about 5-7 minutes. Drain the excess grease from the skillet.
Step 4 –Add the pizza sauce, the mushrooms, and the olives to the beef and cook, while stirring, until heated through, about 2 minutes.
Step 5 –Transfer the beef mixture to a rectangular 2-quart baking dish, then sprinkle with the mozzarella cheese.
Step 6 –Arrange the biscuits on top of the cheese.
Step 7 –Bake the casserole until the biscuits are golden, about 15-17 minutes. Switch the oven to broil to allow the biscuits to finish baking if they don’t brown enough during the allotted baking time.
