These little sausage bites really get the party popping, as they say! Sausage Pops are bite-sized snacks of succulent sausage seasoned with fresh herbs, zesty lemon, and sweet, smoky maple syrup. Each bite is aromatic, savory, and has the perfect balance of flavor. Sausage Pops are a snap to make in a hurry, so you can actually bring a party with you wherever you go… so long as you make these first!
Ingredients
- 1 pound sweet Italian sausage, casings removed
- 1/4 cup fresh flat-leaf parsley, chopped
- 1/4 cup fresh dill, chopped
- 1/4 cup fresh chives, chopped
- 1 tablespoon lemon zest, finely grated
- 1 tablespoon pure maple syrup, plus more, to taste, for serving
Directions
Step 1 -In a medium bowl, add the sausage, the parsley, the dill, the chives, and the lemon zest and mix together.
Step 2 -Form the sausage mixture into 16 small patties, each about 1/4-inch-thick.
Step 3 -In a nonstick skillet over medium heat, cook the patties until golden-brown and cooked through, about 2-3 minutes per side.
Step 4 -Transfer the cooked patties to a clean platter and brush them evenly with 1 tablespoon of the syrup.
Step 5 -Serve with extra maple syrup.
