These Sinful Chocolate Cookies make something sinfully sweet in your very own oven! Each cookie is already melty and marvelous with lots of chocolate chips baked right into the sugary dough, but with an added delight; rich chocolate flavor mixed into the butter, too. You’ll be tempted to eat Sinful Chocolate Cookies before they even cool, or before you even have a chance to bake them!
Ingredients
- 2 1/2 (1-ounce) squares unsweetened chocolate
- 1/2 cup butter
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/4 cups white sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2/3 cup sour cream
- 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
Directions
Step 1 –Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.
Step 2 –In the microwave or over a double boiler over medium heat, melt the unsweetened chocolate and the butter, while stirring occasionally until smooth.
Step 3 –In a bowl, sift together the flour, the baking soda, the baking powder, and the salt.
Step 4 –In a separate medium bowl, beat the sugar, the eggs, and the vanilla until light and fluffy.
Step 5 –Mix the chocolate mixture into the sugar mixture until well-blended.
Step 6 –Stir the dry ingredients mixture and the sour cream into the wet ingredients mixture, alternating between the two.
Step 7 –Mix in the chocolate chips.
Step 8 –Drop the dough by rounded tablespoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets.
Step 9 –Bake until not quite set, about 8-10 minutes.
Step 10 –Transfer the cookie sheets from the oven and let the cookies cool until just set, about 5 minutes.
Step 11 –Transfer the cookies to a wire rack to cool completely.
Step 12 –Serve.
