Ingredients
- 2 cups mafaldine pasta, uncooked
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 medium yellow onion, diced
- 2 teaspoon garlic, diced
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
- 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
- 1/2 cup parmesan cheese, grated
- 1 cup ricotta cheese, optional
- 1 (15 ounce) can tomato sauce,
- 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
Directions
Step 1 –On the stovetop, bring a pot of salt water to boil.
Step 2 –Cook the pasta to al dente according to package directions.
Step 3 –Drain the pasta and set it aside.
Step 4 –Add the olive oil to a large skillet over medium heat.
Step 5 –Add the chopped onion, and cook until translucent, about 5 minutes.
Step 6 –Add the garlic and cook until fragrant, about 30 seconds.
Step 7 –Add the beef along with the garlic salt and Italian seasoning.
Step 8 –Cook until no longer pink while breaking up the beef with a wooden spoon, about 5-7 minutes.
Step 9 –Add the cooked pasta, parmesan cheese, ricotta cheese, and tomato sauce to the skillet.
Step 10 –Stir everything to combine.
Step 11 –Top with the mozzarella.
Step 12 –Turn the heat to low.
Step 13 –Cover the skillet and cook until the cheese is completely melted.
Step 14 –Serve.
