Taco Tot Bake

It’s Taco Tot Bake night! Woo-hoo! There’s nothing like grazing on this hearty, tangy, taco-seasoned beef smothered on top of a crispy, crunchy layer of potato-y tater tots. YUM. Even more exciting? The melty cheese it’s covered in and the customization you get from using any of your favorite toppings. Now do you get it?! Taco Tot Bake makes even the most mundane Mondays into the most marvelous of times!

Ingredients

  • 1 (1-pound) bag frozen tater tots
  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • 2 (1-ounce) packets taco seasoning mix
  • 1/2 cup barbecue sauce
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
  • taco toppings of your choice, such as tomatoes, lettuce, or olives, to taste, for serving

Directions

Step 1 –Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.

Step 2 –Evenly pour the tater tots into the bottom of a 2-quart casserole dish.

Step 3 –In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef and cook until it’s no longer pink. Drain the excess grease.

Step 4 –Add the water, the taco seasoning, and the barbecue sauce to the ground beef and cook, stirring often, until it thickens.

Step 5 –Spoon the ground beef mixture over the tater tots.

Step 6 –Sprinkle the ground beef mixture with the cheese, cover with foil, and bake, about 30 minutes.

Step 7 –Top the taco tots with the toppings of your choice.

Step 8 –Serve.
