Ingredients
For the casserole:
- 2 (9-ounce) bags frozen steam-able sweet potatoes or 5 whole fresh sweet potatoes
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 egg
- 1/2 cup milk
- 3 tablespoons butter, melted
- 2 tablespoons maple syrup
For the topping:
- 3 tablespoons butter, melted
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup pecans, chopped
- 1 1/2 cups marshmallows

Directions
Step 1 –Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.
Step 2 –Cook the steam-able sweet potatoes according to the package directions or boil the sweet potatoes until fork-tender.
Step 3 –In a small bowl, mash the sweet potatoes.
Step 4 –In a large bowl add 2 tablespoons of the brown sugar, the egg, the milk, 3 tablespoons of the melted butter, and the maple syrup and whisk until well-blended.
Step 5 –Add the sweet potatoes to the brown sugar mixture and mix well to combine.
Step 6 –Transfer the sweet potato mixture into a 9×13-inch casserole dish.
Step 7 –In a separate bowl, add the remaining butter, the remaining brown sugar, and the pecans and whisk to combine.
Step 8 –Spread the pecan mixture on top of the sweet potato mixture.
Step 9 –Evenly sprinkle the marshmallows on top of the sweet potatoes.
Step 10 –Bake until the marshmallows are melted and golden on top, about 30 minutes.
Step 11 –Serve hot.
