Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 2 chicken breasts, boneless, skinless, and cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 bunch asparagus, bite-sized
  • 4 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
  • 2 scallions, chopped
  • 2 teaspoons toasted sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon toasted sesame seeds, optional

Directions

Step 1 –Combine the soy sauce and honey in a small bowl or ziplock bag.

Step 2 –Add the chicken to the bowl or bag and set it in the refrigerator until ready to cook.

Step 3 –Heat the oil over medium-high heat in a large skillet.

Step 4 –Add the asparagus and saute for 5 minutes. Once cooked, remove the asparagus with a slotted spoon and set it aside.

Step 5 –Remove the chicken from the bag or bowl of marinade, reserving the marinade for the next step.

Step 6 –Add the chicken to the skillet, sautéing until almost cooked through with a bit of pink still on the inside, about 5 minutes.

Step 7 –Add the garlic, scallions, and the reserved marinade to the skillet.

Step 8 –Saute until the chicken is fully cooked at 165 degrees F and the garlic is fragrant, about 2 minutes.

Step 9 –Remove the skillet from the heat and return the cooked asparagus to the pan.

Step 10 –Add the sesame oil and toss to combine.

Step 11 –Add the sesame seeds and serve immediately.
