Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup seasoned bread crumbs
  • 1 large egg, lightly beaten
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 pound of ground beef
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 4 sesame seed hamburger buns, split
  • burger toppings, such as lettuce, tomatoes, etc., of your choice, to taste

Directions

Step 1 –Preheat the grill on medium heat (or the broiler).

Step 2 –In a large bowl, combine the bread crumbs, egg, salt, and pepper.

Step 3 –Add the beef and mix lightly but thoroughly.

Step 4 –Shape the meat mixture into four 1/2-inch-thick patties.

Step 5 –Press a shallow indentation in the center of each patty with your thumb.

Step 6 –Brush both sides of the patties with olive oil.

Step 7 –Grill or broil the burgers until they reach 155-160 degrees F internally, about 4-5 minutes per side.

Step 8 –Serve the burgers on the buns with your favorite toppings.
