They’re such a breath of fresh air! These innovative, chewy, fudgy brownies are elevated to the heavens with a layer of amaretto-infused filling and are topped with a desirable melted chocolate frosting. So, forget the ordinary and transform your brownies into these amazing Amaretto Brownies. A change will do you good!
Ingredients
- 1 box brownie mix, plus the ingredients called for on the box
- 9 tablespoons Amaretto, divided
- 1/2 cup butter, softened, plus 4 tablespoons, cold, divided
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 6 ounces semi-sweet chocolate chips
Directions
Step 1 –Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F.
Step 2 –Line an 8×8-inch baking pan with foil. Coat the foil with nonstick cooking spray.
Step 3 –Prepare and bake the brownie mixture, according to the package directions.
Step 4 –Spoon 6 tablespoons of the Amaretto over the top of the brownies, then allow them to cool.
Step 5 –In a medium bowl, combine 1/2 cup of the softened butter, the powdered sugar, and the remaining Amaretto and mix until well-combined.
Step 6 –Spread the frosting over the cooled brownies.
Step 7 –In a microwave-safe bowl, add the chocolate chips and the remaining cold butter and microwave in 30-second intervals until melted.
Step 8 –Spread the melted chocolate mixture over the frosting and allow it to harden.
Step 9 –Transfer the brownies to the refrigerator until they are hardened on top, about 1 hour.
Step 10 –Serve.
