Baked BLT Dip

A favorite sandwich meets a favorite snack — that’s the Baked BLT Dip! It takes all the flavors you love from that beloved handheld, specifically the B, the L, and the T, mixes it with some creaminess and cheesiness, then replaces the bread with your favorite type of cracker, and Shabang! You’ve got yourself the perfect snack for any occasion! Get ready for lots of dipping and dunking with Baked BLT Dip!

Ingredients

  • 1 pound bacon
  • 2 pints cherry tomatoes
  • 1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 3 cloves garlic, finely chopped and mashed into a paste
  • 1 romaine lettuce heart, shredded
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • bagel chips or crisps, to taste, for dipping

Directions

Step 1 –Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.

Step 2 –Line a large, rimmed baking sheet with aluminum foil and fit with a wire rack.

Step 3 –Arrange the bacon strips in an even layer on the wire rack and bake until they are crisp, about 30-35 minutes.

Step 4 –Transfer the baking sheet to a wire rack. Reserve 1 tablespoon of the bacon grease and discard the rest. Allow the bacon strips to cool.

Step 5 –Chop the cooled bacon strips and set aside.

Step 6 –In a mixing bowl, add the tomatoes and the reserved bacon grease and toss until they are well-coated.

Step 7 –Spread the tomatoes on a second rimmed baking sheet and bake until they burst, about 10 minutes.

Step 8 –Transfer the baking sheet to a wire rack and let the roasted tomatoes cool slightly.

Step 9 –Reduce the oven temperature to 350 degrees F.

Step 10 –In a large bowl, add the cream cheese, the cheddar cheese, the sour cream, the mayonnaise, the garlic, 1 cup of the chopped bacon, and 1 cup of the roasted tomatoes.

Step 11 –Pour the dip into a 2-quart baking dish and bake until it is hot and bubbly, about 15-20 minutes.

Step 12 –Transfer the baking dish to a wire rack and top with the lettuce, the remaining roasted tomatoes, and the remaining chopped bacon.

Step 13 –Drizzle the dip with the lemon juice.

Step 14 –Serve the dip with the bagel chips.
