Ingredients
For the strawberry simple syrup:
- 2 cups frozen strawberries
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup sugar
For the margarita sangria:
- 1/4 cup triple sec
- 1 cup tequila
- 2 tablespoons lime juice
- 3 cups white wine, chilled
- 1 pound fresh strawberries, sliced, plus more, to taste, for garnish
Directions
Step 1 –Combine 2 pounds of the frozen strawberries, the water, and the sugar in a small saucepan over medium-high heat and bring to a boil, stirring constantly.
Step 2 –Carefully pour the strawberry simple syrup into a blender and blend until smooth.
Step 3 –Strain the strawberry simple syrup through a mesh strainer into a pitcher and allow it to cool completely.
Step 4 –In a large pitcher, combine the triple sec, the tequila, the lime juice, the cooled strawberry simple syrup, and the white wine, stirring lightly.
Step 5 –Add 1 pound of the fresh strawberries to the margarita sangria mixture.
Step 6 –Serve the margarita sangria garnished with the extra sliced fresh strawberries.
