There’s nothing more refreshing than a margarita. And we’re not talking tequila with sour mix — fresh-squeezing limes can be the difference between a great margarita and a so-so margarita. Fresh Squeezed Margarita is a good recipe to commit to memory as it will most certainly come in handy when hosting or for peaceful summer evenings when you’re feeling festive. Serve Fresh Squeezed Margarita with tortilla chips and salsa for an even more celebratory feeling!
Ingredients
- lime wedges, optional, to taste
- coarse salt, optional, to taste
- 1 1/2 ounces silver tequila
- 1 ounce orange liqueur
- 3/4 ounce freshly-squeezed lime juice
- ice, to taste
- simple syrup, optional, to taste, can substitute agave
Directions
Step 1 -Run one of the lime wedges around the rim of your serving glass.
Step 2 -Fill a shallow bowl or plate with the coarse salt.
Step 3 -Dip the lime-coated rim into the salt until it is covered.
Step 4 -In a cocktail shaker, add the tequila, orange liqueur, lime juice, and the ice. Shake for about 10 seconds, until combined.
Step 5 -Taste and stir in the desired amount of the simple syrup.
Step 6 -Fill the prepared serving glass with more of the ice and strain the margarita mixture into the glass.
Step 7 -Garnish with a lime wedge, serve, and enjoy!
