Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 pounds bulk spicy pork sausage
  • 1 medium green pepper, chopped
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1 (31-ounce) can pork and beans
  • 1 (16-ounce) can kidney beans, rinsed and drained
  • 1 (15.5-ounce) can great northern beans, rinsed and drained
  • 1 (15.5-ounce) can black-eyed peas, rinsed and drained
  • 1 (15-ounce) can pinto beans, rinsed and drained
  • 1 (15-ounce) can chickpeas, rinsed and drained
  • 1 1/2 cups ketchup
  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons ground mustard

Directions

Step 1 –Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F.

Step 2 –Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.

Step 3 –In a large skillet over medium heat, cook and crumble the pork sausage until it is no longer pink, about 5-7 minutes.

Step 4 –Drain the fat from the skillet.

Step 5 –Add the green pepper and the onion and sauté until tender, about 5 minutes.

Step 6 –Drain the skillet again.

Step 7 –Add the pork and beans, the kidney beans, the great northern beans, the black-eyed peas, the pinto beans, the chickpeas, the ketchup, the brown sugar, and the mustard.

Step 8 –Pour the bean mixture into the prepared baking dish.

Step 9 –Cover and bake the bean mixture for 1 hour.

Step 10 –Uncover the baking dish and bake until bubbly, about 20-30 minutes.

Step 11 –Serve.
