  • 1 orange wedge
  • 1/2 tablespoon cinnamon, plus more, to taste
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • ice, to taste
  • 3 tablespoons apple butter
  • 2 ounces bourbon
  • 4 ounces chilled ginger ale, can substitute ginger beer
  • fresh figs, optional, to taste, sliced, for garnish


Step 1 –Rim your intended serving glass with the orange wedge.

Step 2 –Stir together 1/2 tablespoon of the cinnamon and the sugar on a plate large enough to accommodate the rim of the glass. Dip the rim in the cinnamon-sugar.

Step 3 –Fill a shaker with the ice.

Step 4 –Add the apple butter, the bourbon, and the extra cinnamon to the shaker and shake well for 30 seconds.

Step 5 –Strain the bourbon mixture into the prepared serving glass.

Step 6 –Fill the glass with the ginger ale.
