Ingredients
For the dip:
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
- 2 teaspoons garlic, minced
- 2 cups chicken breasts, boneless and skinless, cooked and shredded
- 1/2 cup hot sauce
- 1 (8-ounce) block cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1/2 cup white cheddar cheese, shredded
- 1/4 cup American cheese, shredded
- 1/4 cup crumbled blue cheese
- 2 teaspoons green onions, sliced
Optional dippers:
- potato chips, to taste
- celery sticks, to taste
- carrot sticks, to taste
Directions
Step 1 –Arrange an oven rack to the middle position. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.
Step 2 –In an 8-inch cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat, melt the butter.
Step 3 –Add the garlic to the melted butter and sauté until it is fragrant, about 30 seconds.
Step 4 –Add the cooked chicken and the hot sauce to the garlic-butter and simmer until the sauce has thickened and reduced by half, about 2 minutes.
Step 5 –Reduce the heat to low. Stir the cream cheese into the sauce until it is combined.
Step 6 –Transfer the skillet from the heat and stir the sour cream into the dip mixture. Sprinkle with the cheddar cheese and the American cheese.
Step 7 –Bake the dip until it is bubbling around the edges and the cheese has melted, about 10 minutes.
Step 8 –Switch the oven to the broil setting and broil the dip until the top is lightly browned, about 1 minute.
Step 9 –Immediately sprinkle the dip with the blue cheese and the green onions.
Step 10 –Serve the dip with the chips, the celery sticks, and the carrot sticks.
