Cheesy Kielbasa Pasta

Ingredients

  • 16 ounces kielbasa sausage, sliced into even circles
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 8 ounces rigatoni
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • salt, to taste
  • pepper, to taste
  • 1 1/2 cups Colby-Jack cheese, shredded, divided

Directions

Step 1 –In a large greased skillet over medium-high heat, sprinkle the kielbasa with the onion powder and cook until the sausage is lightly browned, about 3 minutes.

Step 2 –Add the chicken broth and the rigatoni to the skillet, stirring to combine.

Step 3 –Bring the pasta mixture to a boil and reduce the heat to medium.

Step 4 –Transfer 2 tablespoons of the warm chicken broth and slowly whisk it into a bowl with the milk.

Step 5 –When the milk is warmed up, add it to the skillet.

Step 6 –Simmer the pasta mixture until the pasta is thoroughly cooked, about 15 minutes.

Step 7 –Season with the salt and the pepper.

Step 8 –Reduce the heat to low and stir in 1 cup of the cheese until melted.

Step 9 –Top with the remaining cheese and serve.
