Chicken Milanese

Chicken Milanese is actually an American twist on an Italian classic that simply tastes amazing. The chicken is breaded and seasoned to delicious crunchy perfection, while the inside is savory and juicy! Then, for extra richness and flavor, each slice of chicken is pan-fried in butter. Chicken Milanese is a speedy dinner perfect for throwing over pasta with a refreshing splash of lemon flavor that is hearty and wholesome!

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs
  • kosher salt, to taste
  • ground black pepper, to taste
  • 1 cup Italian seasoned breadcrumbs
  • 2 chicken breast, skinless and boneless, halved and thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup butter, to taste
  • 1 lemon, optional, cut into wedges

Directions

Step 1 –In a shallow dish, add the flour.

Step 2 –In another shallow bowl, beat the eggs and season them with the salt and the pepper.

Step 3 –In the final dish, add the breadcrumbs.

Step 4 –Prepare the chicken by first dipping each slice into the flour, followed by the egg, then the breadcrumbs.

Step 5 –Repeat with the remaining chicken breast slices until all are well-coated.

Step 6 –In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add the butter.

Step 7 –Fry the chicken in batches until golden-brown and no longer pink in the center, with each piece reaching 165 degrees F in the center when tested with a meat thermometer, about 3-4 minutes on each side.

Step 8 –Garnish the chicken with the lemon wedges, and serve.
