Copycat Chow Mein

Going out is fun, but isn’t it even more fun when you figure out how to make your most craved dish for yourself at home?! That’s one of our favorite hobbies! We got really excited when we figured out all the secrets behind Copycat Chow Mein. All it takes is to get those noodles just soft enough, but not too tender. Then, you quickly stir up that savory, tangy sauce and pour it over the delicious veggies and noodles. There ya have it! Everybody is a homebody when Copycat Chow Mein is up for grabs!

Ingredients

  • 1 (6-ounce) pack Chow Mein stir-fry noodles
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 stalks celery, chopped
  • 2 cups cabbage, shredded
  • 2 tablespoons peanut oil
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar, packed
  • 2 teaspoons ginger, grated

Directions

Step 1 –In a large pot of salted boiling water, cook the noodles to al dente, according to the package directions.

Step 2 –Transfer the pot from the heat and drain, then rinse the noodles with cold water.

Step 3 –In a large pot over medium heat, combine the onion, the celery, the cabbage, and the peanut oil and cook, stirring occasionally, about 10 minutes.

Step 4 –In a small bowl, mix the soy sauce, the oyster sauce, the garlic, the brown sugar, and the ginger together.

Step 5 –Add the soy sauce mixture to the vegetable mixture.

Step 6 –Stir the noodles into the vegetable mixture.

Step 7 –Serve.
