Cream Cheese Squares

There are just some desserts that linger in your memories, and you have to make those treats just a little more often than any others. Cream Cheese Squares are that truly memorable dessert that you are never going to let go of! Just unroll a couple of cans of buttery crescent roll dough, sweeten up some rich cream cheese, and layer on a little cinnamon for that extra bit of love, and you have made the ultimate feel-good dessert. If you love a good cream cheese Danish, Cream Cheese Squares will cure your any-time-of-day craving. Yummy!

Ingredients

  • 2 (8-ounce) cans refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 2 (8-ounce) packages cream cheese, softened
  • 1 1/4 cups white sugar, divided
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup margarine, melted
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Directions

Step 1 –Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.

Step 2 –Grease a 9×13-inch baking pan.

Step 3 –Unroll one can of the crescent roll dough and press it into the bottom of the prepared pan.

Step 4 –In a medium bowl, add the cream cheese, 1 cup of the sugar, and the vanilla and mix or beat with an electric hand mixer until smooth and creamy.

Step 5 –Spread the cream cheese mixture over the crescent roll dough layer.

Step 6 –Unroll the second can of crescent roll dough and lay the dough on top of the cream cheese mixture layer without pressing it down.

Step 7 –Pour the melted margarine over the dough.

Step 8 –In a small bowl, add the remaining 1/4 cup sugar and the cinnamon and stir to combine.

Step 9 –Sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar on top of the melted margarine.

Step 10 –Bake until the top of the dough is crisp and golden, about 25-30 minutes.

Step 11 –Allow the squares to cool slightly.

Step 12 –Slice and serve.
