Creamy Chicken Lazone

Ingredients

  • 12 ounces spaghetti or linguini
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon white pepper
  • salt, to taste
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, divided
  • 1 pound chicken breasts, boneless, skinless, and cut into long strips
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped

Directions

Step 1 –In a large pot of boiling salted water, cook the pasta to al dente according to the package instructions. Drain the water and set aside.

Step 2 –While the pasta is cooking, in a shallow bowl, combine the garlic powder, the onion powder, the Italian seasoning, the white pepper, and the salt.

Step 3 –In a large skillet over medium heat, melt 2 tablespoons of the butter.

Step 4 –Add the chicken to the melted butter and season with 1/2 of the spice mixture. Cook on one side until brown, about 3 minutes.

Step 5 –Flip the chicken and season with the remaining spice mixture.

Step 6 –Cook the chicken until an instant thermometer inserted reads 165 degrees F, about 2-3 minutes.

Step 7 –Add the remaining butter and the cream to the chicken mixture, scraping the bottom of the pan to incorporate any browned bits.

Step 8 –Bring the chicken mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and simmer until the sauce thickens, about 7-8 minutes.

Step 9 –Serve the chicken mixture next to or on top of the cooked pasta and garnish with the parsley.
