Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 cup u long-grain white rice
- 1 1/2 cups chicken stock
- 1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1 teaspoon garlic salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
Directions
Step 1 –Heat the vegetable oil in a 4-quart saucepan over medium-high heat.
Step 2 –Add the rice and cook until translucent, about 3-4 minutes, stirring frequently.
Step 3 –Add the chicken stock, tomato sauce, chili powder, garlic salt, and cumin.
Step 4 –Bring the mixture to a rapid boil over high heat.
Step 5 –Stir the rice once and cover.
Step 6 –Turn the heat down to almost low (a little less than medium low) and cook for 25 minutes.
Step 7 –Remove the cover and let the rice stand 2-3 minutes before fluffing it with a fork.
