Ingredients

  • 2 cups strawberries, measured exactly, fully ripe, stems removed, and crushed
  • 4 cups granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 1 (1.75 ounce) box fruit pectin

Directions

Step 1 –Rinse and dry the containers you are going to put the jam in, at least 5 cups.

Step 2 –In a large mixing bowl, mix the crushed strawberries and the sugar, adding the sugar in one cup at a time and stirring really well after each interval.

Step 3 –Allow the strawberry to stand for 10 minutes, stirring every once in a while.

Step 4 –Add the water and pectin into a small pan.

Step 5 –Bring the pectin mixture up to a boil over a high heat, stirring constantly.

Step 6 –When it reaches a boiling, stir it for 1 minute.

Step 7 –Move the pectin mixture from the heat and add it into the strawberry mixture, combing the mixture well and stirring for several minutes until the sugar is dissolved.

Step 8 –Fill up the containers with the strawberry jam, leaving about 1/2-inch of space at the top.

Step 9 –Put on the lids and let it stand at room temperature for 24 hours.

Step 10 –After 24 hours you can then store the jam in the fridge for 4 weeks or freeze it for a year, serving it whenever you want!
